Tactician is only tough for the first 4 levels, at level 5, it gets a lot easier. Collect gnoll ears and make or buy speed pots. Sleep/command: grovel/hold person is my mvp for encounters. Gale and SH early on always use those to help support. Sacred Weapon is insanely good as it baits attacks and can tank for you.

Just 3k per week is enough to support the strongest party. Charisma is a trash stat in vanilla Warband so it is hard to recommend a build for it. The reason is the loot system. You get more & better loot for winning fights where you are outnumbered. The more soldiers you have, the worse your loot gets.
